Bruce Harper

Bruce Harper  was born on June 20, 1955 in Englewood, New Jersey. When Bruce was a young boy he would watch football on television. Bruce was hooked on football. Bruce  always wanted to play football. Bruce said," I would always be the kid who would go around and ring everyone's doorbell to get a game of football."When Bruce was a kid he always wanted to play running back.

When Bruce watched football he never had a favorite player or favorite team. He focused on all of the players. Bruce really focused on all of the running backs. However, Bruce always enjoyed watching the Jets.

Bruce graduated from Kutztown University, formally Kutztown State College. There he played football. He was the running back. Sadly, Bruce did not get drafted. However, he knew the son of the head coach of the Jets. His son got Bruce a tryout. Bruce made the team. He first started playing with them in 1977. Bruce played with the Jets as a punt and kick returner and a running back for his entire career. He retired in 1984. Recently he created the Heroes and Cool Kids organization. Bruce now plays golf in his spare time and does public speaking for the Jets. Bruce still holds the record for most positive yards in punt and kick returns. Bruce Harper was a great football player, but an even better human being.
